Shin splints SUCKS!! when do you get shin splints?

I HATE THEM! when i’m jogging or running on a treadmill i get shin splints. Do you?

when do you get shin splints? when i’m sprinting i don’t get them, but it’s when i’m jogging or not running at sprint speed is when i get shin splints.

No whenever i run i never heel strike, i ALWAYS run on the balls of my feet as if i’m sprinting.

  1. xxshethatbaddxx answered: it may be the type of shoes you’re wearing . i run track , and the first year i ran i had bad shin splints . it turned out to be the shoe .
  2. sarahwalterlarue answered: Try heel walks when you’re warming up to strengthen. And you want to run more heel-toe instead of your toes-that’s when you strain your shins
  3. ericgoesrunning answered: Have you actually videotaped your gait and checked? Just saying, I’ve heard many people that say they forefoot/midfoot strike but heel strike
  4. splendidlaughs answered: well it might be the kind of shoes you sprint in.And some people will ahve shin splints forever, especially if they are flat footed
  5. n3v3r-g1ve-up-h0pe answered: they can happen if you have worn down shoes so id suggest a new pair of shoes like asics or mizunos, give it a week or two and theyll go away
  6. notjustrunnershigh answered: Try rubbing biofreeze on them! It’s like industrial strength bengay/icy-hot.
  7. feetpleasedontfailmenow answered: stand shoulder length apart, point your toes in a ballet pointed position and bend your knees. you’ll feel it in your shins. shin strengthene
  8. run-faster-eat-better answered: I think I did once and it was just from running waayyy too much. My form was probably really off but yeah, wasn’t fun ;(
